Studied architecture with James Edmeston and was assistant to Henry Roberts & Sampson Kempthorne
1838 – William Bonython Moffat, originally as assistant, became Scott’s partner and for ten years the designed over 40 workhouses
Inspired by Pugin and joined in the Gothic revival, his first project being the Martyrs’ Memorial at St Giles in Oxford
Later went to introduce a new Victorian Gothic which incorporated elements of European Gothic into design – see London’s St Pancras Station
1864-1867 designed the Albert Memorial

Other major projects included:

Great Barr Hall, Birmingham
All Saints’ Church, Ryde
new campus buildings for the University of Glasgow
Towcester Union Workhouse

Restoration projects included:

Chichester Cathedral
Exeter Cathedral
Bath Abbey
St John the Baptist Church, Bromsgrove
