There are many techniques that need to be considered before starting a new design project.  By considering each of these a lot of heartache and money will be saved.

First, ask yourself a number of questions:

How is the room to be used and by whom? eg is it a room that the whole family will be able to use or is a 'grown' up space for relaxation or work

How much time do you have not just to create the look but to maintain it?  eg are there going to be a lot of plants to water, a flooring that will need to be constantly cleaned or if aiming for an historical look, is there going to be a lot of 'stuff' to shift every time you want to dust?

What is the quality of the light?  Is it natural or artificial?

Which way does the room face?

Are you a rigid follower of fashion trends or do you aim for something more longstanding?

What sort of fabric do you want to use - could it be matched or contrasted well with a good paint?

After considering these, and other questions which I bet you can come up with (!), have a look at the other pages detailed below and if you're still in need of some inspiration of assistance please contact us.
